Asahi-en (Station Store)

River Area

The Kawane area is surrounded by mountains and rivers, providing nutrients to produce high-quality tea. The tea is famous for its wonderful aroma and taste. Here at Asahi-en we sell this aromatic tea in many formats, such as sencha (a type of green tea), deep steamed tea, hojicha (roasted green tea) and black tea.

We highly recommend you try the Kawane tea candy and yokan (red bean jelly), developed in collaboration with the local high school students, both of which make great souvenirs!

Access

  • 1 minute on foot from Ieyama Station on the Oigawa Railway.
  • About 30 minutes by car from the Shimada Kanaya IC on the Shin-Tomei Expressway.
