Kogochi Village is located upstream driving along the Okitsu River and is famous for green tea and Mikan (mandarin oranges). Guests staying at a traditional Japanese farmhouse are invited to observe and join in various green tea related activities unique to the area. Kyoko is your host. The plans include traditional Japanese dishes (served before a tea ceremony) and cooking instructions from Kyoko. After the meal, she will invite her guests to a tea ceremony and demonstrate the Omote-senke school style of making and serving tea. Other options are tea leaf picking in the organic green tea field, experiencing the hand rolling process of traditional green tea production and enjoying the soothing sounds of nature at the ENGAWA Veranda Café.
