Walk in the sky over the Oi River with the taste of Shimada Tea

For unforgettable views of Shizuoka’s countryside, take to the skies and try paragliding! Nanamagari Sky Park, located midstream of the Oi River watersheds, is one of Japan's best paragliding spots. The area is called Uyama Nanamagari, which translates to the meandering streams of the Oi River, and features magnificently landscaped tea fields along both sides of the riverbanks.

The Sky Park’s adventure starts with a paragliding experience and ends with a rich cup of Shimada tea to wind down your adrenaline rush. Your instructor, Miyata-san, is a former Paragliding World Cup champion and provides confidence and guidance so you can fully appreciate the aerial experience. From an altitude of 700 meters, witness amazing panoramic views of manicured tea fields, Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay. After your time among the clouds, unwind with a concept tea created by a tea wholesaler in Shimada. The adventure includes a photo of your paragliding exploit and a souvenir to immortalize the experience.
